Helene played by Karen Landry:
KAREN LANDRY turns in a subtle yet expressive performance as the mother who is suffering from dementia and sadly not long for this world in the award-winning COME SIMI. Landry has been working as a professional actress in theatre, film and television for over 30 years. Landry has been seen most recently on television in CRIMINAL MINDS, COLD CASE, and JUSTIFIED among many more. Karen’s work in film prior to COME SIMI includes roles in HEARTBREAK HOTEL, SWEETLAND, “LIVE”, SHATTERED and AFTER THE DENIM directed by Scott Rosenfeldt, for which she won the Atlantic City Film Festival Best Actress Award in the Short Film category.
Jenica played by Jenica Bergere:
JENICA BERGERE plays Jenica, the nine month pregnant and terrified-of-motherhood woman who attempts to reconcile past family strife during an adventurous trip to Simi Valley in her directorial debut, COME SIMI. Bergere has been working as a comedienne, actor, and writer for over two decades recently adding award-winning director (Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival’s Best Filmed Screenplay-COME SIMI) to her accolades. Filmed ‘guerilla style’ in only 6 days, Bergere brought the film COME SIMI in for $10,000 and sites being a micro budget filmmaker as something she actually enjoyed. Distributors have called the film “brave”, a word that also defines Bergere as a director. In addition to COME SIMI, Jenica has a recurring role on the fifth season of the hit drama SHAMELESS, playing the neighbor “Tall Lisa”. Bergere will play key character Sheila Delacroix, in BOSCH written by Michael Connely and premiering February 13, 2015 on Amazon.
Dee Dee played by Tawny Kitaen:
TAWNY KITAEN first starred opposite Tom Hanks in BACHELOR PARTY and has continued to hone her craft over the years. In COME SIMI, Tawny Kitaen showcases her abilities as an actor and steps outside of stereotypes by playing the ‘narcissistic, slightly crazy, aging porn actress’ sister in COME SIMI. Kitaen has starred in episodes of SEINFELD, THE NEW WKRP IN CINCINNATI, and CSI; Co-hosted AMERICA’S FUNNIEST PEOPLE as well as having appeared in VH1’s SURREAL LIFE and CELEBRITY REHAB.
Aunt Maxine played by Fionnula Flanigan:
FIONNULA FLANIGAN as Aunt Maxine in COME SIMI tosses out the suggestion to “Come See Me”, in the award winning film, COME SIMI, which begins the odyssey for this family of inextricably linked and slightly crazy women. Fionnula has an illustrious career, spanning over 40 years. Flanagan guest-starred in several episodes of Lost as Eloise Hawking, a recurring character. She appeared in such films as THE OTHERS opposite Nicole Kidman and THE DIVINE SECRETS OF THE YA-YA SISTERHOOD. She appeared in television series and stage productions including the Emmy-nominated miniseries REVELATIONS and in TRANSAMERICA starring Felicity Huffman. From 2006–08 she played Rose Caffee, the matriarch of an Irish-American Rhode Island family on the Showtime drama BROTHERHOOD.
Josh played by Joshua Funke:
JOSHUA FUNK as Josh-the husband, in the award winning COME SIMI, attempts to keep up with and calm his ever-frantic wife, Jenica, amidst the chaos swirling around the birth of his first daughter. Joshua Funk is an Emmy nominated composer for Comedy Central’s KEY & PEELE and a multiple Joseph Jefferson Award winning director for The Second City in Chicago. As an actor/writer, his credits include KEY & PEELE, RENO 911!, WILD N’ OUT, 3lbs, and THE INFORMANT. Joshua currently directs, performs, and tours with Jim Belushi and The Board of comedy and is working on his fourth season of composing and recording music for KEY & PEELE.
